ADV 312 is an online course that will be taught during the Winter 2020-21 session.
In this course you will develop a rich understanding of advertising and the advertising industry as it has evolved in the United States over the last two centuries. You'll learn about the great and not so great campaigns of the past for brands like Apple, Coca-Cola, and Budweiser and others.
By the end of the course you'll be able to evaluate the events, forces (social, cultural, political, etc.), people, and technologies that have led to the contemporary advertising industry particularly in light of the historical forces that helped to shape its makeup and output.
