The Cottages: Skilled Nursing Community in Champaign County

Recordings of the informational session on The Cottages, which will be a new skilled nursing facility in Champaign County starting in 2026-2027.

Advocates for Aging Care (AAC), a community group, has been working with a collaborative of key stakeholders to address the critical shortage of skilled nursing facilities in Champaign County. The proposed solution is to create a new skilled nursing facility in the Champaign County limits called The Cottages. This facility will be a flagship model for the state and nation by providing an innovative approach to skilled nursing care through research opportunities to embed new technologies and educational opportunities for students. 

This channel includes recordings of short informational online sessions with AAC key organizers, Cathy Emanuel and Lynne Barnes, to interested faculty, researchers, and healthcare professionals. Overview of project: first ~30 minutes. Q&A: remaining time.
