Web Workshop - The Social Media Macroscope
The Social Media Macroscope was developed right here at University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign by experts in data analytics and information science. This research tools allows those with an interest in social media research to conduct big data research, sentiment analysis, visualizations and more without requiring an expertise in computational science. Learn how you can use this tool for professional and educational research, garner an understanding of your marketing efforts, and inform future campaigns.
Joe Yun ([email protected]), Ph.D., is the lab lead for the Social Research and Technology Innovation (SRTI) lab through Technology Services. His research focuses on computational advertising and the technologies that surround it. And he is the principal investigator of the Social Media Macroscope. Nick Vance ([email protected]) is the Director of Operations for the SRTI Lab. He holds a Masters in information Sciences and has expertise in data analytics, technology prototyping, software development and social media analytics. Curtis Donelson ([email protected]) holds Bachelors degrees in Psychology and Biology and is currently working towards a Masters in Data Science. He performs machine learning and data visualization with the SRTI lab and is also the lead developer on the Alexa skills project.
