Boldly IT: Delivering a Strategic Vision for Campuswide Transformation

The University of Illinois has launched Boldly IT—a strategic initiative designed to unify and elevate campuswide IT efforts in alignment with the Boldly Illinois 2030 vision. This session will introduce the six strategic priorities that form the foundation of Boldly IT and demonstrate how they drive transformation across teaching, research, administration, and infrastructure. Participants will explore how Boldly IT is:

1. Changing How We Work: Establishing technology governance, empowering IT professionals, and fostering formal collaboration across units.
2. Advancing Our Use of Data and AI: Launching enterprise GenAI services and a campuswide data strategy to support decision-making and innovation.
3. Enabling Simplification in Administrative Processes: Streamlining workflows through automation, integration, and operational excellence.
4. Building Cohesive Teaching and Learning Support Together: Creating unified governance and infrastructure for online learning and instructional technology.
5. Building Cohesive Research Support Together: Integrating research computing strategies and simplifying the researcher experience.
6. Strengthening Foundational IT Capabilities: Delivering strategic investments in infrastructure, cybersecurity, privacy, identity, and service management.

Attendees will gain insight into how these priorities are being operationalized through governance structures, delivery leadership, and stakeholder engagement. The session will highlight launch initiatives, communication strategies, and opportunities for IT professionals to contribute to shaping the future of technology at Illinois.
