COVID-19
has created a nationwide healthcare crisis in all aspects of care. Public health organizations such as the CDC
and healthcare professional organizations have recommendations, resources,
and guidelines to assist rehabilitation units across the country in their
COVID-19 response. However, these guidelines do not always encompass all possible challenges across rehabilitation facilities with varied administrative structures and sizes. The Carle Foundation inpatient the rehabilitation facility is a small, separate hospital integrated inside a
larger hospital. By examining the challenges faced by this facility, the goal is to create a more robust disaster response for institutions with similar structures.
