Andrew Margenot - Mineralization of Nutrients from Soil Organic Matter: How, How Much, and Can It Be Managed?

 Andrew Margenot is an Associate Professor and soil scientist at the University of Illinois.  In this presentation, Margenot focuses on the process of nutrient mineralization from soil organic matter, specifically nitrogen (N), phosphorus (P), and sulfur (S). He discusses the importance of predicting nutrient mineralization rates to improve crop nutrition and fertilizer efficiency. Margenot also highlights ongoing research to refine soil testing methods and develop more accurate fertilizer recommendations based on organic matter contributions.
