On March 18, 2021, current and former DURP faculty and students explored the
lessons and transformative potential arising from engaged scholarship.
Panelists discussed the East St. Louis Action Research Project (ESLARP), led by former DURP Professor Kenneth Reardon through the 1990s and widely regarded as a national model in participatory action research. Alumni Andy Alarcón and Roger Sexton discussed how their engagement in the project shaped their career trajectories, and current faculty member Dr. Magdalena Novoa explored potential connections between ESLARP and future work in Puerto Rico.
