TSQA: Who Are You? An Introduction to Name Authorities

This session covers practical issues regarding name authority records in basic cataloging workflows. It explores the value of authority headings and introduces the steps necessary to develop a name authority heading (authorized access point). The presentation includes some theory and emphasizes how to create personal name headings according to RDA guidelines. Copy-cataloging examples from OCLC Connexion client will be used. Brent Eckert (Rock Valley College) leads the presentation and discussion on how authority records impact discovery and access in our libraries!
