Skill Up Session: How to Plan a Panel Discussion Event

The Outreach and Engagement Committee will be offering interactive sessions every month designed to help library workers skill up in outreach in engagement. In the first installment Mara Thacker will draw on her experience implementing the Chai Wai event series and talk about best practices (or at least the pretty good practices she has adopted over the years) in planning panel discussion events. From coming up with the concept, to working with speakers, marketing, assessment, and adapting to digital formats, it’ll cover most of the basic logistical considerations. The second half of the hour will be open discussion for questions and for other colleagues to share their successes and lessons learned in planning panel events. Feel free to bring coffee and snacks!
