As the Director of Academic Advising and Career Services in the School of Chemical Sciences, Patricia Simpson is dedicated to ensuring SCS graduates fully leverage their degrees as they embark on impactful careers. She supports students in securing high-quality internships and competitive post-graduation opportunities, driven by her strong commitment to their success. Simpson’s deep care for each student, regardless of their background or challenges, is evident in her efforts to help them achieve their goals. She also serves as a valuable mentor and expert for her team and the broader campus community, offering guidance on policy, practice, and equity in career development. Her leadership was particularly notable during the pandemic when she took on additional responsibilities to support the Liberal Arts & Sciences Career Services community, demonstrating her exceptional leadership and influence beyond her unit.
