I dreamed of being a famous author. My dream comes true every day as I tell the Illinois Extension story, or so I thought. Now I wonder if anyone reads my stuff.
This is the problem: People don't read to the end of anything anymore.
According to Chartbeat data, only 50% of readers read to the 1,000 pixel level of a page (a typical browser page is 700-ish pixels tall). According to the Nielsen Norman Group, on pages with 100 words, people only read half of the page. People only get through 20% of a page containing 600 words.
