In this talk, Ammar Elmajdoub (MUP 2019) introduces the Chicago Transit Authority's initiative to extend the Red Line from 95th/Dan Ryan to 130th Street, focusing on the Transit-Supportive Development (TSD) Plan for this project. This $3.6 billion investment will transform Chicago's Far South Side by improving transit connectivity and fostering economic development around four new station areas. You’ll learn about the quantitative and qualitative methods, community engagement processes, and multi-agency collaborative efforts essential for developing the TSD Plan. The presentation will highlight how to identify potential development sites, engage local stakeholders, and recommend policies to enhance affordable housing access near the stations.
