Spanning six continents, the Global Consortium of Innovation and Engineering in Medicine is an international public-private-government collaborative serving the world as the premier global network to advance medicine through engineering and innovation. The consortium is building impactful, innovative, and multidisciplinary solutions to global health challenges that will benefit society and build a brighter future for health care.
Member institutions may sponsor student teams to participate in the world’s largest Global Health Innovation Grand Challenge Competition at the first Global Summit April 6-8, hosted by the Carle Illinois College of Medicine in Urbana-Champaign, IL with over $250,000 in funding awards for the best team solutions pitched. Challenge topics for the 2025 Global Summit include: AI applications to improve outcomes in rural health or underserved areas globally Solutions that improve early disease detection Solutions that slow or reverse disease progression in chronic diseases and aging populations Low-cost diagnostic, device, or therapeutic solutions that have global scalability Focused challenge topics can be added by corporate members (includes corporations, government agencies, and foundations)
