From Hannah Wirth
The Storytelling Series features the stories of faculty from across campus who are teaching, employing, and developing novel qualitative research techniques. The series seeks to highlight the journeys of our faculty – what led them here to UIUC – and take a deeper dive into the innovative methods they are applying in their current research.
The Qualitative Research Initiative is proud to host Dr. Christina Bollo, Assistant Professor in the School of Architecture as our storyteller for February. Dr. Bollo teaches design studios and applied theory courses focused on health and wellbeing in the built environment. Her recent research on housing for vulnerable populations is published by Housing & Society, International Journal of Environmental Research and Public Health, and The Journal of Property Management. She is an expert on trauma informed design for permanent supportive housing and presents workshops on the topic to non-profit housing providers and architects throughout the U.S.
