From Fractions to Decimals

In this video, University of Illinois preservice teachers use the context of waffles to guide students through shading in fractions of waffles and then converting those fractions into decimals. Place value is modeled. In the last part of the video, students can follow along and practice representing quantities with fractions and decimals on this worksheet: Fraction and Decimal Waffles. There are also problems for students to practice after the video ends!
