Seminar #10 NCHRP IDEA Program for Innovations in Highway Infrastructure: The NCHRP IDEA program is a special program of the National Cooperative Research Program of the Transportation Research Board. The program seeks innovative, high risk, high payoff concepts to prove their feasibility for highway infrastructure applications. This is an applied research program with strong emphasis on results and products that are likely to be implemented in the not too distant future. This presentation provides a brief background of the INCHRP DEA program, what it is looking for, how it works and promotes innovations in highway infrastructure practice, and what it has accomplished in fulfilling its mission. Examples of IDEA products that have made to the marketplace or have been successfully implemented as well as those showing a high implementation potential are also described.
