Using a holistic perspective, it becomes important to consider the performance of your systems. We thus need to define variables that describe that performance.

Your objectives are:

Consider the performance of the system as a whole, rather than its individual parts.
Practice the fundamentals of defining useful variables for considering system performance.
Become familiar with the Systems Thinking Process that allows us to analyze complex systems.
