In this discussion panel, a range of professors and researchers across campus will discuss some of the novel ways that emerging technology is being used in and out of the classroom.

William Bullock is a professor and chair of industrial design in the School of Art and Design.

Alan Craig is the humanities, arts, and social science specialist for the XSEDE program—which connects scholars to supercomputers and other resources. He also does virtual reality and augmented reality development and has written three books on these topics. He spent nearly 30 years at NCSA doing scientific visualization, collaborative systems, data mining, and distance learning. [email protected]

Rizwan Uddin is a professor of nuclear, plasma, and radiological engineering. He's the director of the Virtual Education and Research Laboratory.

Anna Yershova is a lecturer in computer science and was previously a research scientist at Oculus.

Austin Keating is a science writer and videographer at the National Center for Supercomputing Applications. He also holds a recurring annual contract with AARP to coordinate and research their magazine’s tech guide. He’s a December 2015 graduate from U of I’s journalism bachelor's program, an avid 3D printing hobbiest, a voracious sci-fi pulp reader, and a developing digital storytelling guru still weighing grad school options.
