This video introduces you to "General" Alexander Bradley, the great union organizer in the strife-ridden coal fields of southern Illinois at the end of the nineteenth century. As explained, memory of this extraordinary labor activist disappeared for decades but now, especially, is being highlighted. In the video Mr. James R. Alderson of Gillespie, IL "channels" General Bradley in a performance at the Union Miners Cemetery in Mt Olive, where General Bradley is buried.
