Activist Scholarship as Classroom Practice

The iSchool at Illinois stands at the intersection of inquiry and engagement. Doing this requires us to actively work to break free of the ivory towers that can readily keep us from the discovery of new ideas and ways to bring these into reality. Our scholarship needs to take on participatory, mutually beneficial scholarship using democratic practices to co-construct knowledge. This video introduces this growing focus on engagement scholarship and the ways my classes work to advance the priming for our School and its alums to work at our call within the strategic plan to serve professionally at this intersection of inquiry and engagement throughout our careers wherever they may take us.
