Affordable Housing at a Crossroads:Kirk Goodrich, President, Monadnock Development LLC, New York City
4/9/24, 12:30-1:45 PM
Too many families spend more than they can afford on housing. They experience housing insecurity. Some even go without housing altogether. This housing crisis is a product of housing supply shortages that hinge on high development costs, slow production, and restrictive regulations. After four decades with the Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) Program as the main source of affordable rental housing in the United States, it’s time to roll out additional approaches to create healthy communities with better functioning housing markets.Speaker: Kirk Goodrich has more than 30 years of experience in the fields of community development, affordable housing finance and real estate development. Over the past two decades, his efforts have been instrumental to the acquisition, rehabilitation, and construction of over 20,000 affordable housing units in the New York region, first at Enterprise Community Investment and most recently as President at Monadnock Development LLC. With Rafael Cestero (MUP 1993), Kirk also co-hosts and co-executive produces The Housing Problem Podcast. In addition to his 1993 MUP degree from the University of Illinois, he holds a BS degree from Cornell University and a JD from Fordham University School of Law.
