On November 19, Illinois FAST Center SBIR Consultant, Roland Garton, led a workshop and discussion focused on Ready! Session 1.
A competitive SBIR/STTR proposal requires more than composing text, preparing supplementary documents, and filling out forms. Strong candidates need to be positioned for success in several areas: technological leadership & advancement, market presence & awareness, strength of team, collaborators and supporters, effective project planning, and others. (This is true for the business in general, not just the proposal.) In this session, Roland discussed these areas and provided tools for readiness self-assessment.
This is the initial session of the FAST Center’s new Ready! Set1 Go! approach to proposal support. The material in each Ready! Set! Go! session, including this one, will help participants qualify for more in-depth proposal development and support in subsequent sessions. Optional proposal development exercises will be available for subsequent submission and feedback.
Completion of the activities will help qualify for participation in the Set! series.
