According to the federal Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act, the University of Illinois Police Department is required to report “statistics concerning the occurrence of certain criminal offenses reported to the local police agency or any official of the institution who has “significant responsibility for student and campus activities." Campus Security Authorities are important individuals involved in the collection of these statistics so we can keep our campus community informed of public safety issues.
