From UI-LIB-SAVVYRESEARCH
From UI-LIB-SAVVYRESEARCH
Learn how to scan historic objects with your cell phone in this hands-on workshop! Along the way, we’ll provide a jargon-free overview of how AI builds three dimensional objects and discuss copyright, best practices, and library support for 3D modeling. The workshop will conclude with a demonstration of Polycam, a cell-phone based tool that can create 3D models and AR views of cultural heritage objects. In person participants will have an opportunity to handle 3D replicas of objects from the David Livingstone Birthplace Museum in Blantyre, Scotland thanks to a recent collaboration with the IDEA Lab.
Workshop slides and workshop transcript are also available in Google drive.
