Nagios can do many things out of the box, but sometimes custom check and alert scripts are necessary. How can a developer get started quickly on a new plugin without having to install Nagios from scratch or bug their Nagios admin for access to a test or development host?
Isaac J. Galvan shares how to get the most out of a containerized Nagios environment, including:
· Rapidly testing code in a Docker container in a real Nagios Core system
· Using Docker and Github to create and update development or production Nagios environments
· Custom plugin demonstrations, including sending alerts directly to a Microsoft Teams channel
