Tim Nugent: Creating an Accessible World

Tim Nugent started a program at Illinois that changed peoples lives and how the world looks at disability. Sixty years ago, Nugent founded Illinois' Department of Rehabilitation Education Services as thousands of World War II veterans returned home with amputations and spinal  cord injuries. Illinois and the VA worked with Nugent to offer something that was unheard of at the time, higher education to people with disabilities. Nugent's vision also included a wheelchair sports program and he organized the first wheelchair basketball tournaments.
