Clean running water on the Navajo Nation has been an ongoing challenge for decades, and even today one in three families still do not have a sink and a toilet.
The Navajo Water Project was started in 2014 to address these problems, but the COVID-19 pandemic has severely compounded the health consequences faced by native communities, which have been enduring some of the highest infection rates in the US. Emma Robbins, Director of the Navajo Water Project, will discuss the challenges of accessing clean water on the Navajo Nation during the global pandemic.
