The film combines action strips with early still photographs to cover the land grant movement, the founding and location of the university, financial problems, Thomas J. Burrill, Andrew S. Draper, research activities, tradition and purposes, and a message by President David D. Henry. The producer was Scott Craig, animation and direction by Stan Black, script by Charles Flynn and narration by Lloyd Ummel.
