Join James Hamilton as he talks about LineageOS, a free open-source project. It completely replaces a phone’s OS with a “de-Googled” version of Android 13. It allows newer versions of Android (with up-to-date Security) on hardware that Google, Samsung, LG and others no longer support. Installing Google Apps and the Play Store is optional and Outlook, Teams, DUO and many Play Store Apps work with LineageOS. He’ll demonstrate how he chose the Pixel 3 over other hardware options, the challenges in installing, and highlight some specific features and limitations.
