PILPILCO: Hilando Huellas/ PILPILCO: Spinning the Traces (Español)

Since 2020, a group of women from Lota, from the Biobío region, Chile, under the auspices of the Mesa Ciudadana de Patrimonio, Cultura y Turismo de Lota (Citizen Board of Heritage, Culture, and Tourism of Lota), and with the collaboration of Magdalena Novoa, create large-format arpilleras to reconstruct the history of the former coal mining towns of the Arauco province through the perspective of its women.

This short documentary captures the experiences of the Pilpilcanas Memories workshop held between December 2022 and February 2023 in the municipality of Los Alamos with female residents of the disappeared coal town of Pilpilco.
